In Response To Baria's "Vainy Vicky Wicky"
Yes, cosmetics and a ton of products are advertised to women AND men in trying to appeal to their desire to stay young-looking and attractive to the opposite sex. But we also have the Dairy Farmers promoting THEIR products to the population through many different forms of media, most notably magazine and television ads. Now, THEIR product is advertised in the same manner: that if you drink milk, you will be healthy, strong, sexy, attractive to the opposite sex, and you are using something natural (not chemicals) to promote the betterment of your body and mind. You do not need all those bottles and jars and cannisters and powders and creams and etc...etc... in order to accomplish what simple and natural milk will do.
I just thought I would look up some of the "Got Milk?" ads and post them here. See...some women know that the technology and brain-washing of cosmetics isn't entirely necessary. Good old fashioned milk. Good for the body, good for the brain. *smile* I'll post three pictures in a row, so you will have to click on the photo if you are not sure who the celebrity is...and you might even be able to read the ad for each one. I had a friend who studied pharmacology at Uni, and he told me the same story years ago - that humans really only "tolerate" cows milk, and that 98% of it goes straight through us...
The advertising rules are crazy in North America too. Quite a long time ago some part of the US government tried to tell people to eat less red meat for better health. Companies profiting from red meat then jumped around and stomped their feet a lot. In the end the campaign had to be changed to to say choose meat with less fat. Although they couldn't tell you which meat that actually was. Pretty crazy.
We have an (old) actress here that looked very much like Miss Dowell when she's young. Her name is Rae Sita. She's very old now, though. So it's hard to relate her looks with Andie's LOL
And, thanks for reminding me that I need to get my milk soon. I usually consume colostrum milk which is believed that's the best for health and beauty.
