How do your hobbies/activities shift from winter to spring/summer?
In the winter, I tend to chat on the phone or computer. In the summer, chatting is done in person while walking with a friend or sitting out in the sun.
In the winter, you have to bundle up in warm clothes and perform the dreaded task of shovelling snow. Who knows what the windchill is?!? But in the spring/summer.....ahhhhhh. You can hike along trails and take walks while enjoying the sights and sounds of nature, and you won't get cold and have to return home.
In the fall/winter, you have to find a cozy spot inside your home in which to cuddle up and read a book. There will probably be distractions since everyone else will be cooped up with you! In the spring/summer, you can take a walk to a nice, secluded area or a large park...lean up against a tree or sit on a bench....and read your book while hearing the sounds of nature all around you as the sun and fresh air makes your skin feel refreshed and rejuvenates you.
I've been so busy today that I haven't had much time to do much with VOX. But I can't leave out my boys in blue (no gals this time). So here are a few to give you a smile. Enjoy.
Oh, those military boys and their playtime antics. "Let's take the tank down the highway and see what chaos we can create. Har har!" Actually, the officer probably pulled them over just to get a funny photo shoot of him writing them up a ticket.....for speeding? Just another Kodak moment. The police are just as mischevious as the hospital personnel who take photos of unusual instances and then save them in a book. Lol.
Actually, there's usually more than just one goof on every police force. Hmmmm. This must be the whole force, then. Lol.
Uniform ready and hanging unwrinkled? Check. Body in a somewhat comfy position? Check. Weapon secured and safe? Check? Standoff still happening, but a fresh group of officers have arrived? Check. Ready to participate at a moment's notice? Check. Sound asleep dreaming of kittens and puppy dogs? Check.
This bicycle officer would be absolutely heartbroken without his Mr. T mascot. Look how proud he is of his toy. Awwwww.
The tender and compassionate side of a police officer. The toddler obviously needed some help with the sun and heat. Now it looks like he can rest. What an endearing gesture.
The sun is shining today, the sky is a lovely blue in places with thin white wisps of clouds in others, it feels warm (I'm even just wearing a t-shirt), and snow? I don't see any after all the rain we got the other day. It's a beautiful day with the sunshine glistening in through my patio doors and teasing me as I sit here and type. There is a melody of bird song amongst the trees, and I've even seen Sammy the Squirrel jumping around from branch to branch.
Most people watch the television series "Lost", so I decided to use this video clip to go along with U2's song. I have to admit that when the airplane was shown breaking up and the fear running through the passengers, I freaked a tad. Swissair Flight 111 did not crash in that manner, but any jumbo jet (heavy) that goes down impacts upon me. I know the scenes are just that...scenes...but you can't help but to flash back to a traumatic event when you see a trigger. But other than that, it was very nice to see all the characters from the show....smiling, happy, alive....incorporated into U2's Beautiful Day song. Even after tragedy......the soul always strives to be.
